During the Forties, Fifties and the Sixties, medical doctors treated pregnant women with a hormone known as diethylstilbestrol, or DES, to prevent miscarriages.
New study in this week’s New England Journal of Medicine claims that their daughters known as the DES dauthers have about two times the potential risk of breast cancer, infertility, miscarriages, premature birth than non-exposed females.
